@paradisehaha Perhaps the majority of the light skinned Indian woman have decided not to come to the US which why I haven’t seen a whole lot of them, if that’s the case I stand corrected. You state that it is in part the camera Flash, well the desired outcome of them using the flash is for them to appear lighter than what they really are. Finally, there is nothing wrong with criticism because it helps people look at things from different perspectives that we otherwise wouldn’t consider.

I know that “beautiful woman” in some you tube video full of actresses can’t actually represent reality and that’s precisely why I said it. The video is “Bollywood actresses” not “Indian Woman”. It was a sarcastic comment to make the point you don’t seem to get, which is that the “majority” of the woman in these bollywood videos are light skinned woman while the majority of Indian woman I’ve seen are not…

You have to understand these images were taken in a studio therefore the make-up, lighting;
@angelitoxxii flash etc. may have had an effect on some of the images of the women (although most of them have brown or a tanned skin tone) but India has a huge number of women and men with varying skin-tones. Also, I did not create this video, the individual that did so, made this video based on what he/she thought were attractive Bollywood stars, which may differ from what others believe. Instead of making accusations and criticizing each other, we should try to promote open-mindedness.

@paradisehaha Listen, i don’t pretend to be an expert in Indian culture, but i do see how they represent “beauty” which is similar to the white standard of beauty that pervades most parts of the world. In Latin America, where I’m from light skinned woman with light eyes are seen as more beautiful than others. India may in fact be “one of the most open-minded countries when it comes to beauty” but that is not reflected in the pictures above….
